About Aaron
I grew up in a family of artists and inventors. We didn't have much, but that never seemed to be a problem, because my father taught us that we could create anything we might want. He was a jeweler, and as a child I found it fascinating to spend time in Dad's shop working on my next creation too. It gave me the confidence that I could do anything I wanted if I just set my mind to it.
Engineer, fiddler, builder
That mindset carried me through learning the fiddle, getting a PhD, and now building guitars. I'm a semiconductor engineer by trade and an amateur fiddler and guitarist, and I started building guitars as a way to express my own creativity and create something with my hands. It's a labor of love: if I had the room in my tiny floating home on Sauvie Island, I might never sell another one.
Earthshine
When the time came to start my own business, I borrowed the name of my father's metalwork business: Earthshine. I'm driven to create a guitar with the power, warmth, clarity and playability of my dreams, and I intend to keep building until I arrive at that mythical place. So if, like me, guitars are your passion, reach out and we can build the guitar of your dreams together.
