The Model 41

A steel-string acoustic with exceptional clarity and warmth, driven by a larger active area in the top, made by moving the soundhole away from the center of the guitar. Pick it up and you'll find exceptional volume and depth, good note clarity, and the warmth my guitars strive for. Well suited to both fingerpicking and strumming.

Lets talk wood

The woods are part of the voice of the instrument, and part of what makes each build its own. This guitar is Bolivian rosewood, but I also work with figured maple, koa, purpleheart, and other carefully chosen sets. If you’re considering a build, we can start there — with the sound, feel, look, and character you want the guitar to have.

Where it comes from

The idea isn't my own, and I'm grateful to Wilborn Guitars and Iulius Guitars for their groundbreaking work in developing this style of guitar. The name Model 41 comes both from the many iterations it took to build this guitar and as an ode to Dave Matthews, who will continue to inspire me as a player and artist.
